Capture card stopped working

I was using a USB capture card and managed to stream and record from the external vhs/dvd device. Suddenly it stopped working and not capturing anything. I tried all sorts of trouble shooting and nothing resolved it. I purchased another capture card HDMI and it is still not capturing. My laptop is not recognising the capture card at all. I am running windows 11.
Is the problem in the laptop or OBS studio?
Please assist
 
When exactly did the problem start? If you are capturing from the external device, then you may need to post your OBS log for inspection. Were you capturing anything before April 30th?

hi shokolit, this exact same thing started happening to me on saturday. i had scoured the internet and tried every troubleshooting step and called support for every device involved. i do not have a fix either. the last thing i can gather is that it is an obs issue. i too bought a new capture card and it also is not working. have you found any fixes? is there anyone else that can help?
